To eliminate overtime penalties for crowdsourced riders, Ele.me is launching a pilot promotion program for its new service point mechanism to replace the previous overtime deductions by deducting service points and other manner instead, according to Chinese media. This mechanism is currently being trialed in cities such as Nantong, Changzhou, Jieyang and Jingdezhen, with plans to expand to more cities by October. As for MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), as of September 2025, the platform has trialed an overtime penalty exemption mechanism in over 30 cities, continuously adjusting and optimizing the detailed rules.
