If the Bank of Japan decides to raise interest rates in December, key officials within Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's administration will not attempt to block it, increasing the likelihood of a rate hike, Bloomberg reported, citing sources. Some senior officials, however, are against raising rates at this moment.

Previously, Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda had revealed that this month's policy meeting will consider whether to raise rates or not, a remark seen as a clear signal of a high chance of a rate hike.
